Top: David at one month old. It's pretty obvious that I am a totally inept at using a camera and putting David into a really cute pose--I'll have to learn. There was no one to take picture of before him! Bottom: David finally met my Dad who arrived today and will stay through David's blessing on Sunday.

What talent

I had to take a picture of this amazing gift before I took it apart. A lady in my parents ward made me (or David I guess!) a daiper tower. I felt like I was destroying a piece of artwork when I took it apart. It must have taken hours to create.

David at Home

Brad was able to spend a little bit of time at home with us--that was really nice. David gave us a hard time on New Year's Eve; it was so typical! Brad and I were tired and frustrated and David just didn't want to sleep. Luckily we got that out of the way and and our new little guy has proven to be fairly agreeable. He'll give me at least four hours of sleep at night. He slept quite a bit at first but is now opening his eyes a lot more. We are loving the many adventures that parenthood brings.

Grandpa..

The grandpas were both sick so they had to wait a few days before they got to hold David.

More David

There were plenty of family members who wanted to meet David--he got held a lot his first few days.




























It was love at first sight for Brooke. She's never had a tiny baby in the family. And Nate would not stop holding him either.

For Unto Us A Son is Given

I went into the Dr. on December 26th and had a test done to make sure little David was ok. He wasn't doing as well as we would have liked so the Dr. told me to go over to the hospital to start an induction. I was hoping to go home and pack a hospital bag first. Oh well. The induction was technically started at 10 am on the 26th but the Dr. took things very slowly. At one point the Dr. was considering a c-section because David was not responding well to contractions. Yuck. Luckily the Dr. was patient and labor moved along well enough that David was delivered the usual way. He barley made his due date arriving at 11:58 PM on December 27th. So now I get a good reaction when I tell people I was in labor for 37 hours. Thank goodness for drugs!

Christmas

Christmas this year was a little overshadowed by the impending arrival but we still had an enjoyable time. We spent Christmas Eve with my family and had our traditional Swedish dinner. We spent Christmas night with Brad's family and enjoyed giving (and receiving) some gifts. Mom got her wish an made it through Christmas without going into labor but unfortunately David wasn't moving too much that day!

We've had a tough time figuring out the best way to share pictures of David. We decided to go with a blog that we've seen others use....we think this will work well.
