Goodbye Friend!

David is getting to that age where he has a lot of little friends. He knows them and looks forward to seeing them. In fact if I tell him about a scheduled play date and it falls through he spends the day asking me "where is (insert name(s))? Are they coming over yet?

David really enjoyed Makayla; they were in two of the same little playgroups together. It was good for him to be around a girl...of course his love for going to Makayla's house didn't have anything to do with her motorized train set.

Here they are after our last Saturday night babysitting group.

Makayla and her family were here in Boston for 8 months...way too short!!! We wish her and her family all the best as they head to Pennsylvania for their second adventure in her Dad's work rotations. It is always sad to say goodbye.

Hiding Places

It is delightful to have the every day tedium of meal prep (and toy pick up?) interrupted by finding these little cars in the microwave.

I assume Dave or Will presented the idea of this garage to Lightening, The King, and Mater. I'm glad their favorite cars never fully experienced all this location had to offer though!

But, hey, one of the other Cars guys survived the disposal so who knows...

Valentine's Party

We hurried from our tumbling class to a Valentine's Party at church. We have the best playgroup! A sweet Mom and friend planned this for all the kids.

We made Valentine Bags...

Hunted for candy...

Decorated cookies...or mostly ate them...

and finally we exchanged Valentine's in small groups. The kids got put in a group with most of their little friends and it was SO FUN to watch them exchange Valentine's with one another. They were all in the 2-3 age range and they'd each take turns going around a circle and handing the other children their valentine. Of course many need extra help and direction but this was my favorite part of the whole party.

Will's Tumbling Class

I felt bad that Will didn't get to tumble the last session. David went to the non-parent class so Will and I could hang out together. He sure was cautious and clingy at first. He wouldn't let the teachers talk to him or touch him in the beginning. But he still enjoyed it! He loved jumping, tumbling, and especially galloping...I often caught him galloping down our hallway.

you just have to be creative when finding ways to pass the time.

Why not put on monkey costume that was meant for your brother when he was six months old?

Sledding

We hadn't given sledding a try yet so Brad took David out. He said it was hard to walk up the hills in the deep snow because he had to carry David and the sled. It was so high that David was completely engulfed if he wasn't on something more packed. I don't think this adventure lasted too long!

Dig Me Out Of Here!!!

I've never been more prepared to say good riddance to a month than I have this past January. We saw on the news last night (in March) that this winter was Boston's 8th snowiest SINCE 1875!!! Think about that for a minute and then tell me if I'm still crazy for continuing to rant. We welcomed February with yet another storm. Brad's been plugging away at school (patients+class+clubs=busy) so I took the boys out with me while I shoveled.
