Jessica's Wedding

A good friend of mine Jessica Gurnsey got married today. We were in the same home ward growing up and she was a bridesmaid in my wedding. Brad and I were able to leave David with my sister and attend the sealing. Then we picked up David and went to the luncheon. After that Brad and I may have been up to a little mischief at the new home Jessica and her husband recently purchased. Finally it was the reception in her aunt and uncle's backyard. They literally live a stones throw from the Wildlife World Zoo. Jessica promised I'd hear a lion roar but I think the music was a little too loud. It was a beautiful day. Brad was so helpful with both the mischief I planned and another errand I'd agreed to do for the bride. I forgot to find a pic with us in it...

Memorial Day

My Grandma and Grandpa Lyon (Mom's side) were nice enough to host a family gathering today since we were in town and wanted to see the clan. We got to eat a yummy dinner on the patio and see lots of family. This is my Mom's sister Aunt Heidi. She is a gem. Everyone had fun seeing just how much David had grown since last time. We celebrated some of my cousins kids birthdays and just enjoyed being together. Thanks grandma and everyone else who made the gathering happen! This was the last day of our long weekend in Utah.

When I was little I used to have baths in the tiny tub that is in the master bedroom at Grandma and Grandpa Lyon's. David's great-grandma had the grand idea of letting him take a bath in there too. Brad did the washing and great-grandma couldn't resist the photo op. I'm sure in years to come he'll be thanking her for remembering the modest towel too!

Sleeping During the 90th Birthday Party

I couldn't resist a few snapshots of David and his cousin Zach over the weekend. They are only six weeks apart and both are just darling. Zach enjoyed trying to mow over David and David liked grabbing at Zach. They were both so fun to watch. Next time they meet I imagine they'll be double trouble.

Cemetary--Grandma Duff

In honor of Grandma Duffy and Memorial Day we continued the tradition of putting flowers out on grandpa's (and now her) headstone. Grandma always visited the cemetery and cleaned up grandpa's headstone so we kept it up. We visited the graves from both sides of my family. Lots of my grandparents and great-grandparents and one little sister. It was a really nice afternoon. My little cousins really had fun with David. I enjoyed visiting with my Duffy cousins and aunties.

90th Birthday for Grandma Packer

Brad's Grandma Packer (his Mom's mother) turned 90; we came up to Utah for this special event. Grandma Packer was honored with a HUGE 90th birthday bash. There are 90+ people in her family now! Brad liked visiting with his cousins. And we enjoyed being with Brad's sister Amy his brother Spense and their families. We were able meet up with Kyle and Candance Nelson our good friends from BYU afterwards. David sure liked meeting them.

Layton Park

This is the first part of our many Utah adventures! We met up with some of the Cammack clan at Layton park. It was a little nippy outside. We got to see Brad's grandparents--we may not see them for awhile so that was great. Poor Grandpa Cammack broke his ankle :( but we were sure excited they traveled from St. George to see us. David watched all of his cousins play while his Mom and Dad socialized with the adults and tried to stay warm!

8th Grade Promotion

Our school district in Arizona has K-8 schools so 8th grade graduation (or promotion as it is supposed to be called) is a really BIG deal. For me that event was bigger than the ceremony when I finished BYU! Anyhow my little sister Brooke was 'promoted' and she was the ROCK STAR of the whole ceremony. She played the harp during the processional, delivered a wonderful speech, and received the prestigious principals' award.
