Boys Sleepover

On Easter Jared came up to me and and said, "Since Megan and Deidre got a girl's sleepover I think we should have a boys sleepover." So, Deidre and I figured that this weekend would be best. Jared and Nathan came over Friday night. We ate ice cream and brownies and watched Return of the Jedi.

Jared had a baseball game the next morning, so all four boys went and let Deidre have a morning to herself. We had a lot of fun, and David especially liked the new hat that Mommy bought for him. Nate was his usual wild child self. Jared did a really good job in the field.

The boys came back to our apartment and went swimming for a couple hours. Deidre made Grandma Duffy's egg gravy for lunch, but we called it special scrambled eggs because they thought "egg gravy" sounded gross. Nate really liked it but Jared not so much. It was a really fun weekend but by the time they left Deidre and I were ready for a nap, whew!

Three Month Milestones

David has some new exciting milestones: The first sure makes his parents happy. He's started to sleep through the night! We were sure confused the first morning that we woke up and discovered a happy boy in his crib even though he didn't wake up to eat...but now we are loving it. Also yesterday David accomplished his first roll from his back to his tummy. He kept trying while my visiting teacher was over but didn't accomplish the task until waking up from his nap. I was surprised to hear him screaming something fierce and found him face down in the crib. Funny how he uses all his energy to roll and hates it on his tummy but can't quite figure how to go back. He is fascinated with his hands and is endlessly clasping them together and looking at them. He's started grabbing at things too. And of course he reached three months relatively unscathed. We find every new thing truly amazing. Mom and Dad never knew babies were this fun to watch.

David Cotton Tail....

I was frustrated that Easter and St. Patrick's Day were so close together; what a rip! It was hard to find St. Patty's stuff at the stores but we did manage to squeeze them both in this year. Phew.

The bunny is SO tired--putting out easter baskets is tough work!! (And yes I may be one mean Mom but this is the only year I felt I could get away with buying such an outfit.)

David got a few toys and Dad got a frame full of family pictures to take to work...and of course jelly bean filled eggs and lots of peanut butter candy for Brad.

David played with Grandma Kathy in more casual Easter wear since she always rips most of his clothes off because they look 'uncomfortable' to her (!) He got to play with Grandma Noelene later. What a spoiled bunny!

David's aunties love him...and Grandma Kathy couldn't help but give him a little Easter toy. We also said hello and happy Birthday to aunt Amy too maybe uncle Mike will post those fun pictures?

More Leprechaun Mischief

David was a little more cooperative later so we had to take some photos with our funny shamrock headbands.

I'm a probably a dork but I used to love these headbands. They are called pretend ears and I have a drawer full from school spirit ones to holiday ones. These will be great to add to the collection.

Leprechaun Mischief

We celebrated Grandpa's March 17th Birthday on Sunday.

I don't know why, but the leprechauns have always visited my house since I was a small girl. Maybe it is because my maiden name was Duffy? They always seem to leave a trail of gold candy coins behind them. But they must have been out of chocolate this year because we only got plastic coins. Or they used all their chocolate coins up at the other homes they visited? Who knows! But they left us some fun headbands.

We visited aunt Kimmie at work to show her David's outfit and deliver some St. Patty's Day treats.

Easter Tradition

David started the evening sleeping...

Last night we went to the annual easter pageant called Jesus the Christ on the lawn of the Mesa Temple. Brad and I have both been in years past with our parents and friends but thought we'd try a new tradition for our little family. We'd never been on weeknight before and decided that is the way to see the pageant. Much less crowded. We opted for blanket seating instead of chairs. It is interesting how I notice something different each time I watch. This time I was really touched by a song that Mary sings to the baby Jesus. Wonder why?

It looks like another family had the same idea!

David and I went to visit Brad at work a few weeks ago. Dad really wanted to show him off to his friends there--I arrived early so we took a short detour and enjoyed sitting on the lawn of the stake center that is directly across from the temple for a little while. The weather was fabulous. We sure don't envy our friends and family who are still having snowstorms and rain!
